From physical auction to digital trading platform

Royal FloraHolland has made significant strides in recent years to strategically develop itself as the internationally leading ornamental horticulture marketplace with a digital trading platform for growers and buyers, where supply and demand meet. This aims for optimal price formation at the lowest possible costs. Thanks to the digital trading platform, buyers and growers around the world can trade directly with each other, and their commercial processes are organized more efficiently.

Cloud-native architecture

With the new platform, Royal FloraHolland positions itself as the platform for global trade in ornamental horticulture. To realize this strategic ambition, Royal FloraHolland and Conclusion are joining forces to further digitize processes and evolve the IT landscape based on a cloud-native architecture. Royal FloraHolland and Conclusion work together in DevOps teams, ensuring the renewal and continuity of the applications and the underlying infrastructure. Additionally, Conclusion supports Royal FloraHolland in the operational service integration of third parties and SaaS solutions in its IT landscape.

A specialist for every challenge

To effectively support Royal FloraHolland, Conclusion smartly utilizes its own ecosystem by engaging the right specialists. Conclusion Mission Critical plays a major role in infrastructure services and provides 'peace of mind as a service' with the 24/7 operations center and the management of the cloud platform. Conclusion Enablement takes care of the delivery of DevOps services, specialists, and enablers in application development and management. Conclusion also proactively advises on sustainable solutions, for example, regarding reducing the footprint through digitization or smarter use of cold storage.

David van Mechelen, CFO of Royal FloraHolland, comments on the partnership: "We have been working with Conclusion for seven years for part of our IT landscape. Conclusion has delivered a significant performance in the migration to AWS (Amazon Web Services). This has prepared us for our next digital steps. We are pleased to have secured the partnership again for the next five years. Our ambitions are high, our pace is fast, and we are confident that we will successfully continue the line we have jointly set in recent years."

Engbert Verkoren, CEO of Conclusion, comments on the contract extension: "We are incredibly happy to continue the good collaboration with Royal FloraHolland. Together, we have made enormous strides in modernizing the IT landscape over the past years and have been able to contribute to the growth of Royal FloraHolland.
