Pure Storage is further expanding its robust subscription services. With FlashStack delivered as-a-Service, customers can leverage Pure and Cisco's AI-based software-defined infrastructure with flexible usage models. For applications running on Kubernetes, Portworx Cloud Consumption aligns costs with actual usage hours.

The demand for flexible, pay-as-you-go consumption has never been greater, as customers expect the same cloud usage model and cloud experience, regardless of whether their solutions and infrastructure are on-premise, at the edge of the network, or in the cloud.

Pure as-a-Service, launched in 2018 as the first true service usage model for storage, has seen incredible growth and adoption across all sectors and regions. Pure provides flexibility, transparency, and simplicity while meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for performance and capacity, with proactive monitoring and non-disruptive upgrades. By further expanding its as-a-Service offering (which unites block, file, fast-file, and object storage across all performance tiers and private and public clouds into a single data storage subscription), Pure not only meets customers' needs for flexibility but also lays the foundation for a true hybrid cloud experience.

"Pure's commitment is to provide the gold standard for as-a-Service solutions in the storage industry. By continuing to expand our subscription services both in breadth and depth, we give our customers the flexibility and transparency to scale confidently, knowing that Pure meets the SLAs required for their business," says Prakash Darji, VP and GM, Digital Experience Business Unit, Pure Storage.

FlashStack as-a-Service

FlashStack from Pure Storage and Cisco is delivered as a service. It is an AI-based, software-defined modern data infrastructure that integrates on-premises and multi-cloud landscapes. FlashStack is independently scalable and is managed holistically. It is a full-stack solution for critical apps that is always-on and future-ready. Customers can reduce deployment and management time as well as risks with pre-tested and validated reference architectures for popular workloads. By providing a modern operational model, FlashStack helps customers stay ahead of business demands and protect applications and data on-premise, at the edge of the network, or in the cloud.

Portworx Cloud Consumption

Portworx, the 'gold standard' in Kubernetes storage for the enterprise according to GigaOm Research, enables customers to consistently run and scale their modern enterprise apps on any cloud or data center with the performance, security, and data protection they are accustomed to. Cloud-native applications running on Kubernetes are highly dynamic. Therefore, estimating the exact number of servers needed to run applications on Kubernetes is quite a challenge that leads to over-provisioning and higher costs.

To address this challenge, Portworx introduces flexibility by adjusting the use of Portworx for customers to more or less usage of their applications. Previously, customers purchased one or more annual Portworx licenses that could each run on a single server. If they needed more licenses, they had to contact the sales department to acquire additional licenses. With the new flexible pricing, customers now buy a number of hours, instead of a license tied to a single server. These hours can be utilized throughout the year, depending on the number of servers they need to run, similar to how pricing for reserved instances in the public cloud is structured.

FlashStack as-a-Service is delivered through Pure and Cisco authorized partners and is now available in the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and Australia. Portworx Cloud Consumption is now available for all Portworx customers. More information:
