Many applications of artificial intelligence focus on analyzing text or data. Performing actions in software systems, such as filling out forms or navigating through applications, often remains difficult. At the same time, many healthcare systems cannot be directly connected to AI solutions.

According to Jop de Bakker, CEO of Yarado, this combination is a significant reason why automation in healthcare often progresses slowly. 'The healthcare sector has wanted to automate for some time, but in practice, this proves challenging due to complex and closed systems. By combining technologies such as RPA, AI, and API connections, processes can still be automated. We are already successfully using this combination in healthcare organizations to alleviate administrative burdens. The implementation of this technology remains an important aspect. Which technology do you use for which task, and how has this been done before in other healthcare organizations? 'That is what we created YaraBuilder for.'

An AI that creates automations without reinventing the wheel
YaraBuilder assists in designing and implementing automation solutions. An employee describes in plain language what needs to be done; the platform translates this into an executable action plan and determines which technique is most suitable for each step. For systems with an API, connections are suggested; for screen actions in closed EHRs or portals without an API, RPA is used; where data interpretation is needed, AI comes into play.

What distinguishes YaraBuilder is that it draws from a library of proven building blocks, developed and already in use by more than fifty healthcare organizations. This allows parts of tasks to be reused, adjusted where necessary, and implemented more quickly based on what already works in healthcare.

Relevance for healthcare

Especially in healthcare, this approach can help reduce administrative pressure. Organizations are facing staff shortages and a fragmented landscape of software systems. Automation can take over repetitive tasks, such as registrations or data transfer between systems, allowing healthcare professionals to have more time for their core tasks. By implementing YaraBuilder, it becomes easier and faster for healthcare organizations to successfully and stably establish these automations.

During the Zorg & ict trade fair, healthcare organizations and technology partners share their experiences with automating administrative processes. Rick de Wit from Yarado will demonstrate how such automations are applied in practice together with partners.
