From the WTC building in Arnhem, Universal IT offers cloud services to end users and resellers. The service provider has a complete and flexible package of services for The New Way of Working. The number of partners using Universal IT's cloud has significantly increased in the past year. According to Universal IT, this is due to the additional services it offers.

Offering secure and reliable hosted applications, hosted desktop services, and hosted communication services is just the beginning, believes Universal IT. Therefore, the service provider has identified self-service and flexibility as key points and reflects this in, among other things, the new logo it has designed. 'A Touch of Power' shows that clients of Universal IT have the opportunity to 'take control'. And this applies in the broadest sense of the word. Partners and information managers can flexibly assemble their packages themselves, but also create and modify their hosted services. Self-service and flexibility are thus the keywords in the collaboration between Universal IT and its partners.

The web-based Universal Control Panel is an important feature of Universal IT and provides resellers, IT managers, and/or end users the ability to create and manage their own services. Clients can set up Exchange 2010, SharePoint 2010, or CRM 2011 themselves, but non-Microsoft products are also included in the Universal Control Panel. Examples include the Hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server, online backup, and hosted VoIP. New services are continuously being added here. In addition, clients can create their desktop environment (also dedicated) and install the desired applications on it. This allows clients to respond directly to the needs of their customers and/or employees without the intervention of Universal IT.

Partners can thus use the white-labeled platform of Universal IT to add their own services, such as importing data into the hosted environment, configuring applications for users, installing software on the hosted desktop, and user management. This combination of Universal IT's reliable infrastructure and the services of its partners to end users is the key to success.

The second feature of Universal IT is the flexibility of the offered services. This is expressed in several areas:

The contracts: monthly, Universal IT charges the actual usage to the partner. This makes it easy to scale up, but also scale down if necessary. This applies to the number of licenses, but also to the required storage. Universal IT does not use annual contracts (like most hosting companies), but monthly contracts. Clients only pay for the actual usage and can thus allow their services to move directly and flexibly with (temporary) fluctuations in the desired package composition, the number of users, and required storage. In addition, partners can handle the billing to their end customers themselves.

Innovation and integration: Universal IT is constantly looking for new applications that add value for its partners. An example is the integration of applications, but also new services that the service provider adds to its cloud. With its own people and resources, Universal IT works on the continuous development of new functionalities and applications. This distinguishes Universal IT from 'standard' cloud solutions. Examples include Lync Server including Enterprise Voice, self-developed mobile apps for the hosted applications, the integration of fixed and mobile telephony in the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System, and of course the custom solutions for, for example, SharePoint, CRM, and Lync.

The package composition: every partner and client is free to determine their own hosting package. Universal IT makes its cloud available and offers partners the opportunity to sell the Universal Hosted applications white-labeled and/or offer their own applications from their own virtual private cloud. Universal IT ensures availability, backups, and management; the partners provide service to the end users.
