The Google AI China Center is the first of its kind from Google in China and will rise in Beijing. Fei-Fei Li, Chief Scientist at Google Cloud AI and Machine Learning, will lead the center.

Google announced this news during the Google Developer Days in China. Google's move is anything but strange. China already contributes a large part of scientific research in the field of AI and machine learning. Moreover, collecting data, a crucial part of such research, is less of a problem in China than in the West.

In the coming months, Google will build the team that will work in the research center. In addition to research, the center will also support workshops and conferences.
