The specifications? Significant. The trend towards lightweight devices is fully embraced by ASUS: despite powerful hardware, the trio of laptops is featherlight. The NanoEdge displays of VivoBook 14 (14 inches) and 15 (15.6 inches) have a screen-to-body ratio of 87%; the VivoBook 17 (17.3 inches) has 85%. With an extremely narrow bezel, each model easily fits into smaller carrying spaces. Additionally, a reduction in production materials corresponds to a reduction in human footprint: ASUS praises the new release for its sustainability.
VivoBook 14, 15 and 17
The VivoBook 14 and 15 are available in four colors. Internally, you will find up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor; in terms of graphics card, up to an NVIDIA GeForce MX130. If you scale a purchase to this powerful hardware, (light) video editing and gaming are not excluded in use. ASUS also claims to have revolutionized the numpad with NumberPad: a solution for the lack of numeric keys in smaller laptops. With the push of a button, you can switch this NumberPad from Windows Precision Touchpad to LED-lit keypad, a design choice that creates space that was previously unprecedented.
Expect to be able to use a VivoBook up to three times longer than laptops that rely on a standard lithium-ion battery. On top of that, fast-charge technology allows users to charge a dead battery to 60% within 49 minutes.
Specifications such as ports and storage can be read on the official website. Prices and availability will be announced at a later date. We will keep you updated on CES 2019!
