Both models are characterized by a stylish, durable, and fully aluminum design and a 13.5" Full-HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 3:2. The new Acer Chromebooks are equipped with 8th generation Intel Core processors for exceptional performance and long battery life for productivity on the go.
The convertible Chromebook Spin 13 (CP713-1WN) features a 360° hinge for use in various modes: tablet, notebook, display, or tent mode. The Chromebook comes with a Wacom stylus pen, which can be easily stored in the designated storage compartment. The Acer Chromebook 13 (CB713-1W) is designed as a traditional notebook for tasks that heavily utilize the keyboard.
Higher productivity
The new Acer Chromebook Spin 13 and the Acer Chromebook 13 are equipped with a 13.5-inch Full-HD+ display with a resolution of 2256x1504 and 3.3 million pixels for a vibrant and lively image while running apps and displaying content. On the IPS display, the user can easily present projects, share content, and display apps thanks to the wide viewing angle of 178 degrees.
The 3:2 aspect ratio adds 18 percent more vertical space compared to a 16:9 screen (similar in width). Therefore, the user needs to scroll less when displaying websites, documents, and spreadsheets. When the Chromebook Spin 13 is used in tablet mode, it feels more like a real magazine, providing a better reading experience.
Aluminum design
The new design of the Chromebook 13 is characterized by a beautiful aluminum chassis with an attractive shape for professionals, students, or anyone who appreciates a sleek, modern design. The appealing diamond effect on the edges and around the touchpad adds a nice accent to the matte sandblasted aluminum chassis. Moreover, the Chromebook feels pleasant to the touch and is easier to hold.
The Chromebook Spin 13 and the Chromebook 13 are both built with a robust yet stylish aluminum chassis for better durability with less distortion. The large touchpad made of Corning Gorilla Glass ensures smooth navigation while browsing and using apps. With the dual microphones, the source of the sound can be precisely determined for clear playback during video chats and online calls.
Wacom pen input
Thanks to the convertible design of the Chromebook Spin 13 with a 360-degree hinge, the Chromebook can be used in multiple modes. The touchscreen can, for example, be used in tablet mode for comfortable reading of online content, gaming, or chatting. The convertible design allows the keyboard to be quickly pulled forward. Additionally, the Chromebook can be set to display mode to get closer to the screen. You can also choose the space-saving tent mode.
With the optional Wacom EMR stylus, the user can sketch, take notes, capture ideas, and work interactively with programs and apps with precision. The stylus feels good in hand and provides unmatched precision and a natural writing feel. The pen can be stored in the storage compartment of the Chromebook Spin 13 to prevent loss.
Connections
The new Acer Chromebooks are equipped with USB 3.1 Type-C connections on both sides for charging from the most convenient angle. The connections can also be used for fast data transfer when connecting an external display or charging other products. Both new Chromebooks also feature a traditional USB 3.0 connection and a MicroSD card reader.
The Chromebook Spin 13 and the Chromebook 13 are equipped with dual-slot antennas for fast and reliable 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac wifi, ensuring that the customer can always stay online. Bluetooth 4.2 ensures a comfortable connection with peripherals.
The new Acer Chromebook Spin 13 can be used all day at school or in the office (also for streaming and gaming) with a battery life of up to 10 hours1.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 13 features an 8th generation Intel Core i5-8250U processor or a Core i3-8130U processor. This Chromebook is equipped with 16 GB LPDDR3 RAM and up to 128 GB on-board eMMC storage.
The options for the Acer Chromebook 13 processor include an 8th generation Intel Core i3-8130U, Intel® Pentium 4415U, or an Intel Celeron 3865U processor. There is a maximum of 16 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB eMMC memory for data storage.
Android apps and Chrome apps
Both the new Acer Chromebook Spin 13 and the Chromebook 13 offer full support for Android apps via Google Play. The user has access to both Chrome apps and more than two million Android apps for productivity, connectivity, and entertainment.
The new Acer Chromebooks are not only easy to use but can also be easily shared with multiple users. Users can easily log into their own Google account for access to Gmail, Google Docs, apps, extensions, bookmarks, and much more. Chromebooks run on the Google Chrome OS platform, which provides automatic updates. These automatic updates protect the user from the ever-changing online threats.
Acer USB-Type-C Dock II
To further expand the capabilities of the Chromebook Spin 13 and the Chromebook 13, the user has the option to connect the Chromebook to the Acer USB-Type-C Dock II with a single cable, creating a powerful workstation easily. This handy and compact dock allows for super-fast transfer of video, audio, and data and keeps the workspace clutter-free by providing a direct connection to multiple displays and other devices. The dock is equipped with all the connections that business users need, including DisplayPort, two HDMI ports, two USB 3.1 type-C ports, three USB type-A ports, an Ethernet (RJ-45), and a combined audio jack for a microphone and speakers.
